Genesee is a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. The population was 3,609 at the 2010 census

Genesee, Where the mountains meet the city, is located at 39°41′43″N 105°16′2″W (39.695523, -105.267413).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.7 square miles (17 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3,699 people, 1,511 households, and 1,199 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 555.5 people per square mile (214.4/km²). There were 1,562 housing units at an average density of 234.6 per square mile (90.6/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.94% White, 0.22% African American, 0.35% Native American, 1.78% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 0.76% from other races, and 0.87% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.73% of the population.
